So I have big news, I’m due to leave my day job in a couple of weeks and I’m entering the big, bad world of freelance. Full time, interior design here I come! How mega exciting, I can hardly wait! So with this change looming, obviously my thoughts have turned to ideas on my perfect home office…
I think that this table designed by Atelier Biagetti, is the ultimate, dream, pie in the sky desk for me. I love the combination of colour and materials. Please, please can I have it? Or please, please can the universe send me a client who would be willing to pay the bomb I’m sure it costs to let me put it in their home? I’m remaining ever hopeful!
Something much more achievable and within my personal budget, are these mesh boards which I’m sure you’ve seen floating about on the internet. I’m a little bit, totally obsessed with these wire grid mood/inspiration boards.
So mega simple – all you need to do is hit up your local hardware store for the grid and cut it down to your preferred size. Then if you want, get spray paint happy. I’m quite enjoying black at the moment. Or I think a bright pop of neon could be kind of fun.
The grid allows you to change up the look and feel of your office on a regular basis. Much more chic than the standard cork pin board from student days I think.
Another fun thing to think about, is what to use to pin all your lovely inspirational images. Yes, this is how I get my kicks…
Simple wooden pegs?
Classic black bulldog clips? Simple and effective.
Or how about these sexy brass clips I've found at present and correct, only one of my favourite stores!
Anyway, I personally can’t wait to get started. I’ll let you know how I get on. If anyone wants to get in touch about the desk... You know, I'm waiting!
