Personally I'm such a huge fan of plants indoors. My bedroom alone is a veritable greenhouse. They really can make such a difference to a space adding some interest and making it feel instantly more homely and cosy.
I would certainly recommend investing in some plants if you're looking for a cheap and easy way to update a room. If you have a thing for Scandinavian/mostly white interiors (don't we all?) it's such a nice way to break up all the white space with some leafy, luscious greens.
So, now that I've sung all the praises of plants for interiors, let me talk you through some trends.
Trend one: monstera plants
How beautiful is the monstera plant? I love these architectural shapely leaves. They're very much trending at the moment and my instagram and pinterest feeds are absolutely heaving with them.
If you're short on space, how about placing a lovely large leaf in a simple glass vase - it can totally work really well too!
trend two : cactus & succulents
For those of you who have trouble keeping plants alive, can I suggest some succulents and cacti? These can make really lovely arrangements on your desk or windowsill. There are so many different varieties and shapes. You'll be sure to find one that you really love. These babies are obviously really great for small spaces.
trend three : air plants
Air plants are also having a major moment. They kind of speak to me of dinosaurs and pre-historic times. Are you getting the same vibes? Or is it just me... Anyway, I think that they're absolutely beautiful. They look great cleverly displayed like a piece of art or sculpture. Also, look at these fab ways of hanging them in geometric, metal frames. You'd be hitting three interior trends in one with one of these babies - geometric, metallic and air plants.
So if you're feeling inspired, I think it might be a good idea to check out geo fleur. I saw their stand at Broadway market the other day. They definitely have some on trend pieces I'm looking to pick up myself!
