I was flicking through this months' issue of Wallpaper today when I stumbled across some gorgeous images of an apartment designed by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran for Fendi. These are the designers who head up Dimore Studio.
The apartment sits in Rome, above a Fendi store and below a Fendi boutique apartment. Basically, it’s a Fendi sandwich. And wow, the design is certainly eye catching! I love the smoked glass bookcase you can see the picture above. All rich teals, ornate details contrasted and mixed with furniture with clean lines.
Poring over these pages in Wallpaper, I felt I needed to know more. Since reading all about Dimore Studio, they are fast becoming one of my favourite design studios. I must say that they have a mega impressive portfolio.
The breadth of work shows that their eye for detail and choice of colour is just absolutely spot on. They’ve completed amazing designs across a number of different spaces ranging from residential to hotels (my favourite) to retail. I feel inspired by them all!
Dimore Studio’s style shows a really fantastic understanding of balance, there is an opulence and luxury about the spaces that they create but also there seems to be a restraint allowing the spaces to be elegant without being over the top. This was really what I was trying to achieve in my final project at college. It’s a shame I didn’t come across their work sooner as I definitely would have looked to their work for inspiration!
Whilst the designs are really incredibly high-end and luxurious, I think that there are some nice design lessons that can be learned by examining the interior design of Dimore Studio. I have to say I’m really inspired by their work and can only hope to create spaces so beautiful in my own career. Images were found on their site, check it out here!
